君と怪物 kimi to kaibutsu (you with the monster) English translation + romaji lyrics

just a warning: this is kind of a sad song. I think this song sums up what it feels like trying to make friends and utterly failing at it story of my life.

kaibutsu wa mita kirei na sora
ippo aruku
ushirometasa ga iki wo koroshi
ashi wo tometa

a monster saw a beautiful sky
walking one step at a time
guilty feelings killing its breath,
it stopped its feet

kiseki wo shinjita hito wa hitori
inori kiete
doryoku wo oshimazu tsukushita hito mo
hitori mata hitori

the person who believed in miracles is alone
prayers fade away
the person you befriended without valuing their effort
is also alone, alone again

yume wo azawarai tatta koe ga
hitotsu kotae
"sayounara kimi to au koto wa nai"
nokoshi kieru

the voice that sneered at and severed that dream
its only answer;
"goodbye, I'll never see you again"
is left behind and disappears

ano hi mita kaibutsu wa kitto
sabishikatta no
mou inai tooku
kono yoru wa mou sugu ni akeru

the monster that I saw that day
was surely very lonely
they're not here anymore, they're far away
and very soon this night will dawn

ano toki ni mieta sugata hitotsu
dokoka kanashige
ima made no kotoba subete gomibako ni sute hirou

the one figure that was seen at that time
seemed to be sad somewhere
all these words so far, I'll gather them all and throw them away into a trashcan

ano hi mita kaibutsu wa kitto
aitakatta no
mou konai chikaku
kono yume wa mou kitto, sameru
ano hi mita kaibutsu wa kitto
tsutaekatta
mou inai tooku
kono yoru wa mou sugu akeru

surely the monster I saw that day
wanted to meet me
but they won't come nearby
this dream is already, most likely, subsiding
surely the monster I saw that day
wanted to talk with me
they're not here anymore, they're far away
and very soon this night will dawn
